This is in no way intended to undermine or downplay the incredible importance of both those roles in creating comics (they are absolutely vital) it's simply to keep things concise for voting purposes.

Because of that fact, at this time the list does not include Editors or Letterers. NOTE: FOR CLARITY (and because there has been some confusion) this list was created strictly for the purposes of documenting women writers and artists prior to CSBG's first ever "Top 50 Women Comic Artists & Writers Poll (which begins accepting votes on 3/2/15). LIST OF FEMALE WRITERS AND ARTISTS (INCLUDING COLORISTS) WORKING IN COMICS (A "LIVING DOCUMENT") The list currently has over 1700 names and I know we've still missed so many, so please spread this post far and wide, and begin adding names to the comments immediately so that we can make it as comprehensive, inclusive, and magnificent as possible.Īlso, make sure to vote here and TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO VOTE TOO.ĬLICK NEXT FOR THE MASSIVE (EVOLVING) LIST OF WOMEN IN COMICS. The list IS international but is obviously weakest when it comes to non-English works since I only read English…well, and a truly pathetic amount of French. But this post is not about examining the past and the how and why we got here, it’s about celebrating what we do have, and what we have had.ĪND ESPECIALLY if you are a WOMAN WORKING IN COMICS/A WOMAN THAT HAS WORKED IN COMICS in one of these capacities (writer, artist, colorist) PLEASE add your name and relevant details so we can get you added to the list as soon as possible (and I apologize in advance for missing you, please understand what a massive and basically impossible undertaking this was and look on me with riously, I hate the alphabet now and my hand is KILLING me from repetitive stress injury T_T). Women just haven’t historically had the comics credits to their name and that’s for a variety of reasons both reasonable and less reasonable. It’s not really surprising that given only 20 precious slots to fill (each voter was allowed to vote for 10 artists and 10 writers), and with all the absolutely stunning comics creators over the years that women almost never made it into people's ballots. But this weird perk became rather depressing during the most recent round of voting for CSBG’s Top 100 Comic Book Artists and Writers (50 for each category) because almost no ballots had women on them. One of my favourite away grounds to visit as it is spot on traditional, friendly and a good view. There are some great perks to working at Comics Should Be Good and one of the weird ones is that I can see comments as they come in to the site, before they are approved, or rejected, or burned in a frenzy of horror (some awful stuff comes through here, guys). Good pub adjoins the ground too, The Ratcliffe Arms. Inside the ground, stewards are rather dozy and did not deal with a lunatic who invaded the pitch (harmless) after the away side scored. A couple of idiots within the away section let off blue flares so searching at the turnstile point of entry was not carried out properly. Rochdale AFC stewards need better training as perhaps they are not used to large away following. The tiny terraced chip-shop outside the ground away turnstiles is recommended too, excellent. You can see all 4 corners from the away seats and both goals with an uninterrupted view with no poles, posts or obstructions.

I visited as an away supporter and the view is superb as it on pitch-side and not stuck behind a goal. Decent stands, not modern, this is an old ground with old seats so don't expect luxury or comfort.

Proper football ground, British traditional with seating and terracing.
